Tuesday,14 April 2009, B11 LIVING QUARTERS LOADOUT CEREMONY LAUNCHED BY DEPUTY CHIEF MINISTER OF SARAWAK, DATUK PATINGGI TAN SRI (DR) ALFRED JABU ANAK NUMPANG

Recently, Brooke Dockyard has successfully loaded out the B11 Living Quarters Module and Helideck project at Brooke Dockyard Sejingkat, Jalan Bako.Kuching.

YB Datuk Patinggi (Dr.) Alfred Jabu anak Numpang, Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak was given the honour officiating the B11 Living Quartes Modules and Helideck project Load out ceremony. The B11 Living Quarters was awarded to Brooke Dockyard Engineering Works Corporation by Sarawak Shell Berhad on 6 August 2007. It is a redevelopment project of the current B11 Living Quarters facilities, where the existing 14-bed emergency living quarters will be replaced with the new light weight stressed skin 42-bed quarters.

Brooke Dockyard secured the project from Sarawak Shell based on collaboration with a renowned Light Weight Stressed Skin Living Quarters specialist, Emtunga Offshore AB from Sweden. The confidence given by Shell to Brooke Dockyard/Emtunga is a great honour for this marks the first of its kind, a light weight stressed living quarters to be built and installed in Malaysia.

The new LQ module (consisting of total 31 nos of sectional modules ) Detail Design was started by Emtunga on November 2007 with fabrication of modules works commenced at Sweden on February 2008. The sectional modulars were loaded out from Gothenburg on May &June 08.

Brooke Dockyard successfully transformed the modulars as a complete living quarter & helideck unit of which the assembly works started on August 08 in Sejingkat , Malaysia.

The successful of modules assembly works reflects the great teamwork and endeavors of all personnel involved, with Shell’s personnel always providing the guidance to the team.Brooke Dockyard also responsible for the offshore final tie-in (hook up & commissioning) by appointed HUC Subcontractor (EJJV) and Technip for interface detail designs.

The fabrication of B11 Living Quarters Project also has achieved 500,000 man-hours without Lost Time Incident by 10th April 2009.

The B11 LQ is scheduled to be installed at Bintulu offshore by Mid May 2009 and ready for Habitation by End June 2009. Currently, offshore preparatory works is in progress and on schedule.

The modules plan to achieve the sail away on the 30 April 2009 to its destination at B11 mother platform, offshore Bintulu.

YB Datuk Patinggi (Dr.) Alfred Jabu anak Numpang, Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak was given the honour to do the cutting ribbons as a symbolic gesture to grace the Loadout Ceremony of B11 Living Quarters Project.
